About Xeomin®

WHAT IS BOTULINUM TOXIN TREATMENT?

Injections of botulinum toxin block the nerve signals to the muscle in which it was injected. Without a signal, the muscle is not able to contract. The result is diminished unwanted facial wrinkles or appearance.

WHAT IS BOTULINUM TOXIN RESISTANCE?

Botulinum toxin resistance is the formation of neutralising antibodies against botulinum toxin treatments, which causes declining treatment effects or in the worst case, leads to complete non-response. This may be triggered by the presence of impurities* found in most botulinum toxin products.

Did you know that 8 out of 10 users experience declining effects after at least 3 botulinum toxin treatments?

In view of current trends in BoNT-A aesthetic use, it is essential for us to inform patients of treatment risks, and choose the pure+ botulinum toxin treatment with zero impurities* to minimize immunogenicity.

IS YOUR BOTULINUM TOXIN TREATMENT LOSING ITS EFFECT?

Definition: Botulinum toxin resistance is the formation of neutralising antibodies against botulinum toxin treatments, which causes declining treatment effects or in the worst case, leads to complete non-response. This may be triggered by the presence of impurities* found in most botulinum toxin products.

HOW WILL XEOMIN® MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR
MY AESTHETIC TREATMENTS?

Botulinum toxin products containing impurities* may lead to declining treatment effects, or even complete non-response. For natural and lasting results, choose the XEOMIN®, the pure+ botulinum toxin treatment with zero impurities* as your lifetime aesthetic treatment.

WHAT ARE IMPURITIES*?
AND HOW THEY AFFECT YOU?

1WHAT are impurities* in Botulinum Toxins?

Varying degrees of impurities* are found in most Botulinum Toxin A formulations due to differences in manufacturing and purification processes. These impurities* consist of complexing proteins, inactive neurotoxin, flagellin and bacterial DNA.

2 WHY ARE THEY HARMFUL?

Impurities* in Botulinum Toxins increase the risk of activating the immune system, leading to the formation of neutralising antibodies (NABs) that diminish treatment efficacy over time or even cause complete non-response.

3 HOW CAN I
PREVENT THIS?

It is important to choose a Pure Toxin with Zero Impurities* right from the start to ensure optimal results with every Botulinum Toxin treatment.

WHAT ARE COMPLEXING PROTEINS?

Impurities* such as complexing proteins are an unnecessary part of most botulinum toxin products. The impurities* do not play a role in successful botulinum toxin treatments and in fact may cause neutralising antibodies to form - this may cause subsequent treatments to be rendered ineffective.

ZERO IMPURITIES* = LOWER RISK OF NEUTRALISING ANTIBODY FORMATION

WHAT DOES ZERO IMPURITIES* IN THE PURE TOXIN MEAN FOR YOU?

* impurities refer to the presence of complexing proteins, inactive neurotoxin, flagellin and bacterial DNA contaminants.1,2

+ Pure refers to the absence of complexing proteins, inactive neurotoxin, flagellin and bacterial DNA contaminants.1,2
